The astrological symbol for Aquarius is said to represent waves or ripples of water and is one of the oldest recognized constellations along the Zodiac. The constellation is found in a region of the sky known as the Sea because of the large number of watery constellations such as Cetus, Pisces, Eridanus, etc.
