Because I Love You <3

Everyday is special when you are with the one that you love but some days can be more special than others. A personalized gift is a great way to mark a special occasion and can also be a nice way to brighten an ordinary day. While I like getting gifts at times like birthdays and anniversaries, "Just Because" gifts and "I’m Thinking Of You" gifts seem to mean just a bit more. An unexpected present can brighten a day no matter how down in the dumps I was feeling.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, you can show the one that you love some extra (and I’m sure much appreciated) attention with this heavy weight Crystal Heart Keepsake & Paperweight. The pink option is especially nice for this holiday but both the pink and the clear "diamond" are appropriate for any romantic celebration.

Remember, true love comes quietly but you can still make a fuss about it……

For any day filled with affection, a small gift with a lot of love can be just the thing. Whether you are on a budget, in a new relationship (and don’t want to be too extravagant) or just looking for a little trinket; this Crystal Heart Keychain is perfect. I know that I cannot  always find room for large items but there is always some space for a keychain (and elegant yet functional items are always a favorite).

It can also be difficult to find nice gifts for daughters, nieces and younger children. Personalized gifts however, are a good idea for people of all ages and small shiny trinkets are always in fashion with girly girls.

Birthdays, anniversaries and wedding are scheduled for the next few months and gifts that serve as small tokens of affection are always needed in our house. Choosing a gift can be difficult but knowing where to go to select the gift doesn’t have to be.

Cutting the Cake - Personalized Cake Knife and Server Sets

By Lori | August 3, 2007

Cake serving sets are great gift ideas for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and many other special occasions and celebrations.

One of the traditions at a wedding is the cake cutting ceremony. Wedding cakes today range from simple white cakes to extravagant multi-tiered cakes. No matter what kind of cake is present at the wedding reception, one thing is always certain. The bride and groom have to cut the cake and they will most likely need something to cut it with.

A great way for the newly married couple to cut the first piece of cake together is with a beautiful cake serving set. Either gold or silver serving sets are well suited for a wedding. A heart shaped server set can symbolize the love of the new couple. Not only will a cake serving set look elegant, but it is a gift that can be kept forever and used over and over again for years to come.

Anniversaries will be an especially great time for the couple to reuse their special set. Some couples choose to follow the custom of saving the top tier of their wedding cake to enjoy together on their first wedding anniversary. Imagine how a newlywed couple could look back and remember their wedding day and use their personalized cake server set on their first anniversary.

Saving a part of the wedding cake for a year may not be the most practical tradition. It probably tastes how you would imagine a one year old cake to taste. You can try to wrap it up as best you can and freeze it, or instead, you could order a small cake that is similar to your wedding cake and have it ready on your first anniversary. This way you can still celebrate this tradition and have a delicious, fresh cake to enjoy.

imageCutting the cake is typically followed by the bride feeding a piece of cake to the groom and the groom to the bride. Some couples may even go as far as smashing the cake in each other’s faces. After spending all that time and money on the perfect dress, your hair, and makeup, would you really want to have cake smashed in your face? I can’t say that I would want it to happen to me, but I think it might be funny to see at someone else’s wedding. Some people may even see this as disrespectful, since the bride and groom feeding each other a piece of their wedding cake is a symbol of the love and respect a couple has for each other. It all depends on the couple and what they decide is right for them.
