Baby’s First Christmas

Celebrating Christmas with a new baby is an exciting time. A child will have only one first Christmas. It is a perfect time to start new traditions that include your new little boy or little girl. You can start a baby book or scrapbook for your child and include
mementos in it like pictures, pieces of wrapping paper, Christmas cards, and other important holiday keepsakes.
You can also buy an ornament to celebrate this once in a lifetime occasion. A personalized ornament for a baby’s first Christmas is a great gift for any new baby. This special ornament can start a new Christmas tradition of the child placing his or her ornament on the tree each year. A child will look forward to this tradition every year.
Another wonderful gift for a baby’s first Christmas is a personalized frame. This frame can be kept and enjoyed for years to come. It can be filled with an adorable photo of baby all by himself or herself, or with a photo of the entire family celebrating this special occasion.
When decorating your home for the holidays, keep baby in mind. Place any tiny decorations or ones with sharp edges well out of reach of your little one’s hands. Another option to be safe is to use only soft, baby friendly decorations. Also keep these ideas in mind if you have pets. A holiday accident is probably not the way you or your child would like to spend Christmas.
Babies won’t remember their first Christmas, so it’s important to keep things simple and just let them enjoy their surroundings and the time that is spent with their family. Don’t be surprised if your baby has more interest in the wrapping paper or empty boxes than in any actual gifts. This is a good reason to not go overboard with presents for babies and young children. Once they are older, a personal gift will turn into a cherished keepsake that can be enjoyed year after year.

Personalized Christmas Stockings

A common Christmas tradition is for children, and usually adults, too, to hang up a Christmas stocking. These empty socks or sock shaped bags are left out for Santa to
fill up with small gifts during his visit on Christmas Eve. These stockings are typically hung over the fireplace, but if there is not a fireplace in the home, they can be hung just about anywhere else. Other places where stockings are hung include the backs of chairs, on doorknobs, on bed posts, and along stairs. These suggestions are just a few of the possibilities.
The traditional Christmas stocking is red with white trim. Stockings today are available in just about any size or design that you can think of. A personalized stocking is a special gift that can be used year after year during the Christmas season.
Hanging up a stocking is similar to traditions in other countries. One variation that may have brought about the hanging of stockings is the Dutch tradition of children leaving their clogs out near the fireplace for Sinterklaas to find so that he could fill them with gifts or treats.
There are many legends that describe the origin and history of the Christmas stocking. No matter where this tradition started, one thing is certain, the stocking is a commonly practiced American custom and highly recognizable Christmas symbol.

Decorating the Christmas tree - Personalized Ornaments

Decorating the Christmas tree is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. It’s also a great way to get your family together to create some holiday memories. It all starts with first picking out the perfect tree. Should you get a real tree, an artificial tree, a
small tree, or the tallest tree you can find? Then there are the countless options of what decorations to use. There are the lights, the ornaments, the garland, ribbons, and just about anything else you can think of to put on your tree. The possibilities seem endless.
So where do you start? Picking a theme is a good place to start. Get some ideas on the colors and the decorations you may want to use. You’ll probably have some special ornaments to hang throughout the tree and you’ll need some filler ornaments for the rest of the space. Common Christmas symbols such as Santa Claus, snowflakes, reindeer, snowmen, and stars have a big presence in Christmas decorating.
Maybe the biggest decision to make is to decide whether to use a real tree or an artificial one. Everyone has a preference on which tree they like better and of course there are advantages and disadvantages for both. The traditional look and scent of a real tree cannot be matched by a fake one and many people look forward to and enjoy the tradition of going out to pick out or cut down the perfect tree. With an artificial tree, there are no needles to clean up and no worries about watering. Using an artificial tree year after year is also economical. However, artificial trees are made with the non-renewable source of petroleum and do not decompose in landfills once they are disposed of. Real trees are biodegradable and new trees are typically planted to replace the ones that have been cut down.
If you want a real tree but don’t want to cut one down, there is also the option of using a planted tree. You can keep the tree planted in a pot and once the holidays are over, you can plant the tree outside in your yard. One must weigh the pros and cons of each type of tree and make the decision that best fits their needs.
If you choose to use an artificial tree, Christmas is just the beginning. You can reuse your tree again and again. Celebrate holidays throughout the year with a Valentine’s tree, Easter tree, Halloween tree, Thanksgiving tree, or decorate your tree for any other holiday or occasion that you can think of.
